Our stay in La Tulumeña was short but pretty great. We arrived past 1am and they checked us in quickly without any issues. The front desk staff was super friendly, the room spacious, clean and comfortable, and the hotel nicely renovated and bright. Best part is the location - right in the middle of Tulum Centro, across the street from the ADO station, and right next to bars, shops and restaurants
Loved this hotel. The place is very unassuming from the outside but super cute, clean, quiet and safe. The staff was very nice with the exception of the guy in the front desk, he was kind of rude and didn’t seem to want to help with our questions. Otherwise, a good stay. The restaurant adjacent to the hotel a nice peaceful space to hang out. All in all, a great value.
This hotel definitely has potential. It’s in a super convenient, central location—literally right across from the bus station. Entry was smooth: I was given a code for the main gate, and our room key was waiting in a lockbox. Honestly, it couldn’t have been easier. Bonus: if the onsite restaurant is open, you can enter the hotel through there, which is super convenient. Guests get a discount, and happy hour means drinks are half off. They actually know how to mix a proper cocktail, too—not the usual watered-down stuff. The room itself was very basic, but it did the job—quiet, cool, and just right for a restful night’s sleep. It’s not really the kind of space you’d want to hang out in all day, but let’s be real: who comes to Tulum to chill in their room? Our AC worked well (though it leaked a little, leaving one corner of the floor wet), and the hot water and shower pressure were excellent. Communication via WhatsApp was easy, but just note that the virtual reception can’t deliver towels on demand. They don’t offer extras—just exchanges when housekeeping comes in the morning. A little towel locker with a code would honestly be a game-changer. Checkout was strict, but they do offer luggage lockers for 12 hours after checkout. Just bring your own lock. I left my bags and headed off for a massage before my bus—seamless. I wanted to add a concern that I had brought to management’s attention for future consideration. After using the blanket provided in the room, I developed numerous bites across my body, which appear to be consistent with dust mite exposure. It seems the blanket may have been stored for a while without being laundered. To help prevent this in the future, it might be beneficial to implement a regular cleaning schedule for all bedding items, including extra blankets. Alternatively, storing freshly washed blankets in a secure, code-accessible closet for guest use could be a great solution for the virtual desk. I’m sharing this in the spirit of helpful feedback, as I really hope future guests can enjoy a more comfortable experience.
• central location opposite ADO bus station • Tulum-themed rooms and interior • excellent air conditioning • I personally didn’t like the idea of the virtual assistant reception • towels were old & worn out • Shower had no board or partition, floor got wet after every shower Overall, I would come back to this place
The rooms are super cutely decorated. The outdoor shower was pretty intense and the foliage is just the cherry on top. Softest sheets I have had in a hotel. I also thought that it was going to be loud because it’s off the Main Street but the room is surprisingly sound proof.
